In connection with the exhibition The Great Monster Dada Show, Henie Onstad Art Center in Norway will host a Dada cabaret on Saturday 23 November. Dada was one of the most cross-border art movements of the twentieth century, and is considered a very innovative period in art history. When Dada emerged during the First World War in Switzerland, its neutrality led to a gathering point for refugees, artists and anarchists from different countries. Several of these began to gather at Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich, a short-lived arena that became an exciting combination of nightlife, literary club, showroom and theater hall. In Cabaret Voltaire's spirit, Henie Onstad has brought together various performance artists, musicians, contemporary artists and researchers to Høvikodden to contribute to their own cabaret.
